Got a question? Great!
We encourage our babes to always be curious and seek our expert guidance.
Feeling like you’re bombarded with information about training and nutrition?
There’s so much conflicting advice around, it’s easy to get confused, sceptical and anxious about lifting weights.
You start wondering:
- Where do I begin?
- What’s a safe weight to lift?
- Will I start gaining weight?
For a long time, there’s been a huge lack of understanding and education about the amazing benefits of strength training for the female body.
At Barbell Babes Brigade, we believe in educating our women and we welcome you to ask questions.
By working smarter and adopting a ‘minimum effective dose’ approach, we gain a positive result with the least amount of work possible.
Our focus is on getting the most out of your training sessions. So, we follow strength training principles and progressive programming. That way, you’re continually challenging your body which leads to ongoing results and avoids plateaus.
Our distinct (and totally cool) approach
We’re not a bootcamp service.
We’re not a CrossFit box gym.
And to us, you’re not just a number walking through our door.
Your progress and your enjoyment are our greatest priorities. We care about how you feel in your body, in your mind and in your heart.
So, what makes us different?
Well, we adjust your progressions and regressions in all of our training sessions. Because we want you to progress at your own rate while keeping optimal movement and the correct technique.
At BBB we believe in lifelong learning. Our highly skilled coaches are continually improving their knowledge. Not only does this keep our brains sharp, it also means we offer you the maximum level of service possible.
Our gym is the home of our community and we want you in our squad.

Here’s a list of the most commonly asked questions we get:
You can expect to feel great almost immediately. You will be surrounded by a supportive network of women who are looking to chase their own specific goals. Within the first 2-4 weeks you will start to feel fitter, stronger and start seeing physical changes within your body. You can expect to see lean muscle which will give you that "toned" appearance. We value respect and honesty in everything we do. Your results are a reflection of your commitment and dedication to your goals and you get out what you put in.
No is the short answer. Building muscle is generally much harder for women as opposed to men. Men have more skeletal muscle than women which is why they are usually stronger than men. Men also release testosterone which is very important in muscle building. Combine strength training with a healthy, balanced diet and you will create a feminine, strong physique.
We believe in educating and empowering you to make decisions in regards to all aspects of your life including your nutrition. You are a grown woman and do not need to be given a checklist. This is why you will not find a list of what you can and cannot eat. We will provide you with nutritionist approved guidelines on how to construct a balanced diet, 'BBB Nutrition Protocol'. Along with the guidance and support of our expert Coaches, we believe you will feel empowered to make confident choices no matter what situation you are in. When you are on holiday, out for dinner with your friends or preparing meals in the week, equipping you with the tools needed to make educated decisions is the key to our ladies success. You should never have to restrict any food groups completely, balance and moderation while still being able to obtain great results.
All our ladies undergo a movement analysis and consultation prior to training. Your Coach will be able to identify any muscle weaknesses, structural imbalances and find out more about you. This allows us to provide you with the most appropriate program to ensure you are successful in your own health and fitness endeavours.
All our ladies are asked to complete a pre exercise screening form to identify any injuries or health concerns before commencing training. This will allow us to have options that are suitable for you and make recommendations to ensure you maximise your results.
Ensure you arrive 5-10 minutes earlier so we can make the most out of the session and brief you accordingly. Bring a towel, water bottle and a positive attitude. Ensure you don't train on an empty stomach. If you find it uncomfortable to train on a full stomach, a banana can be a suitable pre workout snack. You will be given suitable warm ups to complete before your session starts.
We are not like commercial gyms. We do not have memberships and you do not have to sign up for a long term contract. Your training is always with a BBB Coach. You are able to suspend or cancel your training at any time if you wish. All our ladies work with us for a minimum of 12 weeks to ensure that we can actually help with real goals.
