“Because I suffered severely from depression and anxiety, on top of that I was in extremely abusive relationships and I had no strength. When I decided to change, training was the thing that was my constant. I just showed up every day and did my best. Eventually, I got stronger mentally because it forced me to be uncomfortable and to push myself and because of that, I can use the same mental strength in other aspects of my life. Training has taught me about resilience and failure, its taught me about confidence and self-love/care. It teaches me that you need to put hard work in for the outcome you want, the outcome is not just going to show up. It also teaches me how fucking good it feels to achieve something you worked for and NOTHING can take it away from you – it’s YOUR success. No one can lift the weight for you. It’s me, my story and my strength that keeps me showing up. So I can continue to be challenged, and I can keep getting better.”
