|We don’t all step into strength training saying that we want to lift double our body weight or bench press the blue plates.|
We don’t all come to BBB HQ having clear and defined goals.
It’s not uncommon when we meet women that they are unsure of where they want to go and what they want to achieve.
More often than not we have women come into HQ who are interested in starting strength training but don’t really know where to start or where to go from here.
That is exactly why we love strength training so much!
A lot of the time you don’t know what is possible until you start.
The exciting thing is that you get to find out what your body can achieve.
Many women that we meet have often trained before. Generally they’ve had a gym membership, done a few classes, tried some machines but never ever found the spark to explore any definite goals.
They have often chopped and changed what they are doing; not following a structured program. Not allowing movement patterns to be created and strength to grow.
This has often resulted in many woman losing interest after a few months.
Many losing motivation from lack of results.
Many getting frustrated.
And many throwing in the towel thinking strength training isn’t for them.
This can no doubt make anyone feel a little crap.
And that is exactly where we come in.
We educate our ladies using an approach that allows them to achieve results and set goals that are specific and relevant to them, consistently.
You don’t have to know exactly what you want to achieve. That is not a set requirement before you start [something].
The main thing is that you take the first step and start!
As you keep moving forward, you explore things you like and things you dislike.
Things that you are good at.
Things that you need to work on.
Through this organic growth, goals can often appear by themselves. We naturally get interested in things that excite us. As we feel our way through preparation phases of training, we start to realise how great it feels to move. How great it feels to move our bodies and feel strong!
From here, we then utilise various tools that allow our ladies to set goals.
As this process goes on, our girls begin to explore their strength. Physical strength that they never imagined possible.
And before they know it, they are lifting more than they ever imagined possible. They are setting performance related goals and focusing on what their body can do.
Goals that were once in the forefront of their minds, once associated purely around weight loss often take a step back naturally. They may still be there but it is no longer an all consuming aspect of their lives. They no longer train to become less. They train to become more, do more and live more!
They chase technique progression, numbers on the bar, shifts in mindset.
This is goal setting. This is training. This is strength.
Where are you at with your goal setting progression?
If you are stuck in a rut…ladies…we get it, let’s chat!
Whilst women are discovering a thing they never knew they’d love, the confidence that has been growing in their training spills into other aspects of their life.
