…you get sick…
…and you can’t train…
…because the winter sickness kicks ya…

You’re tracking along really nicely.
Your lifts are feeling great.
You feel like you’re making progress.
Then BAM it hits you!
The bug that’s been floating around gets to you.

You feel like crap and you have to miss a session.
That’s fine you tell yourself, I’ll take 1-2 days off and I’ll be back for the rest of the week.
Before you know it, it’s a week later and you feel like absolute crap.
You haven’t trained in a week and you feel so sluggish.
You say f**k it, throw the towel in, eat like a trash bag and fall into a negative headspace.

We all hate being sick!
It kicks our routine out, it puts our training goals on hold and it usually makes us feel crappy.
Now is not the time to fall into the hole.
Now is the time to respect where you are at, adjust your parameters, address your expectations and think about doing all you can to get back to being fit as a fiddle.

What can you do to give your body what it needs to get better?
How can you be nourishing your body for recovery?
Do you need to completely rest from your strength training program or can you make adjustments to do some walking instead?
Could you do some meal planning for the week ahead from the comfort of your bed?

Could you use this time to check in with how your goals are tracking? (what have you achieved and what can you do to push yourself forward over the next 3 months)
Do you simply need to allow yourself to catch all the zzzzzz’s?
Get an early night, drink all the water and give your body what it needs right now.
The barbell will always be there next week x
