Yesterday as I was at an intimate mastermind meeting I was stopped in my tracks and my mind zoomed in on this one sentence “Build trust in yourself”.
As a business owner and Coach, I get presented with some pretty challenging experiences. Are you interested in this collaboration? Would you like to purchase this? Are my clients getting the highest level of service? How can we be doing better?
The challenges keep coming, the decisions need to be made and I am the only one that ultimately can do that. I ultimately pull the trigger on all aspects of my life. Sure things may appear like they happen “out of the blue”, but the reality is that consciously or sub consciously you influence the outcomes.
My life is mine to live therefore I need to know that the person in the driving set believes and trusts what she is doing. Thats me. Decision making in my world is a beautiful mess. I love thinking, exploring and brain dumping whatever is going on in my head and whatever challenge I have in front of me. Its exciting and confronting to think of all the possible outcomes, good and bad, but thats often what needs to be done. What is the worst possible scenario from this? What is the best possible outcome from this? What one is going to be serve me and allow me to sleep at night?
WILL I SLEEP WELL TONIGHT?
A good friend and mentor of mine asks me this all the time. Based on the decisions you have made, will you sleep at night?
You got to bed with yourself every single night. Are you comfortable laying down your head.
Are you living your life in alignment with your values and your passion?!
Do you trust yourself?
Yes.
Its incredibly powerful and empowering to feel the reassurance within yourself.
But how do you build trust in yourself?
You listen to her.
And if your not listening to her, to you, you do what feels right in order to let her be heard.
If our mind can make or break us, we need to be taking the time fully unlocking the thoughts that are going on upstairs. Because that space upstairs is so powerful, it is the magic maker.
What resonates with me wont necessarily fit with you.
In the words of Brene Brown, “take it for a ride and see if it fits”.
In order to build trust and continue to build trust in myself the following practices have helped me immensely.
Daily journalling
Daily gratitude
Reading religiously
Challenging my physical state in lifting
Journal what feels right to you. Bullet points, a letter to yourself, flow chart, whatever. Just start somewhere.
Give thanks for what you have in your life and acknowledge what every experience teaches you, good and bad.
Pump the good shit into your brain. Read material that create positive flow. Listen if you find that is better for you. Hardwire a thinking pattern that will serve you well.
Move regularly. Our bodies are designed to be moved. Some of my best ideas come when I am lifting and thinking.
As I work through my practices it continue to solidify in my head that I run my life. The world will throw challenges at me daily but I control what is working upstairs and I how I choose to respond.
“Beautiful girl, you were made to do hard things so believe in yourself”
