notice your front tyre is getting a little flat as you get home from
work that night. It’s not fully deflated but you know that it’s pretty
much going to be completely flat.
You leave it and tell yourself it might be fine in the morning and you will deal with it in the weekend when you have more time.
You wake up the next morning, the tyre is worse off (obviously) than when you left it the night before.
It’s completely flat.
You ain’t going anywhere.
The tyre will remain flat whether you leave it for 12 hours or 3 days.
In order to fix the tyre you can do either of the following:
- Do it yourself
- Get someone to do it completely for you
- Get someone to help you do it
Either option, it requires some work on your behalf.
You see this is the same with the challenges we are facing in our life. Simply ignoring the problem, giving it some time and hoping that it will fix itself is just not going to happen!
When we have a problem, we MUST create a solution ourselves.
We MUST put in work and effort in order to change the current state.
Whether your current challenge is a “niggly” back; rest won’t fix the problem in the long term.
Whether your current challenge is binging at night; removing all foods and busying yourself every night to avoid the issue won’t fix the problem in the long term.
Whether your current challenge is your lack of motivation; signing up to a “28 day challenge” every few months is not addressing what is going on underneath.
The tyre won’t get fixed if you don’t do something about it.
