Inez Vlasich (aka. Nez)

27, University student and total babe!

Nez is an integral member of our squad who brings an infectious positive vibe to all her sessions. Training with focus and determination, Nez is thriving with Barbell Babes Brigade and positively influencing all those around her!

Coming from a running background, Nez became a member of Goodlife Preston with the intention of jumping on the treadmill to drop the excess weight she had gained recently.

Nez has been training with us for almost 2 months now and her results to date are absolutely outstanding.
Dropping a huge amount of weight on the scale, a ridiculous reduction in body fat and dropping a pant size her body is responding very well to the programming as prescribed by Trainer Rochene.  Nez attends a BBB Boost session along with following a program tailored for her.  Training 4-5x per week, Nez absolutely loves the sessions programmed for her and Trainer Ro has to remind her to take a rest day!

When meeting Nez she had never completed a deadlift, squatted with little to no weight and was not aware of the great benefits of strength training.  She now squats 40kg with ease, deadlifts 50kg with great form and continues to get stronger every week.

Nez is progressing into her second phase of her programming after achieving and completing the foundations needed in her primary phase.  Visible abs, 2kgs left to go and unassisted chin ups are goals on her radar.

We have no doubt that she will meet every single one of these!

We spoke to Nez about her training, results and what Barbell Babes Brigade means to her.

What results have you achieved since you have been training with us?

Gees where do I start. Well when I first meet Ro in July I weighed between 68-66kg and believed that running for an hour each day like I did 2 years ago before fracturing my ankle would be what was going to get me back into shape again (ow how little I knew). Since starting training and programming with BBB in august I'm now sitting at 60.2kg, my overall body fat has greatly reduced and for the first time in my life I'm actually getting definition in all the right places.

What do you enjoy about being a member of the Barbell Babes Brigade?

Definitely the amazing support and motivation not only from the amazing Ro but all the BBB girls during training. Its incredible what you can do when your surrounded by strong women who push and support each other.

What do you enjoy most about your training?

Most definitely the Strength. And TABATA circuit training. Absolutely kills you but is such a great feeling when you see the weights go up or endurance and stamina increase.

Before you started with BBB what training were you doing? What results were you achieving?

Two years ago I weighed 58kg and was running almost every day for an hour, when I fractured my ankle I took up swimming. I was fit but still had a belly that I couldn't shake off and no real muscle definition considering how many hours I was putting in. Then the training just fall off and ended up being the heaviest I have ever been at 70kg.

What were your initial thoughts on strength training and how has this been influenced since joining BBB?

Initially I thought the only way I was ever going to loose weight and tone up was through long, gruelling hours on the treadmill. So you could say I was very sceptical when Ro said that strength and conditioning was the way to go. When I came along to my first squad session I was totally blown away by just how hard you can push yourself in under an hour using weights and high intensity. So its fair to say that first training session with BBB got me hooked and I haven't looked back since. Its only about a month and a half in to BBB but I've never seen my body look like this before nor have I ever been this strong. Its such a great feeling and all the support us girls give each other is so important. Bring on the next 6 weeks.

We love having you a part of our squad.  Thank you Nez!

Be the change
